Run from Strawberry Fair Resteraunt in Norwell, MA !!! - that waitress is a real jerk !

I had breakfast at the Strawberry Fair resteraunt in Norwell,MA. It was  a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The waitress made stupid comments, gave really bad service and, on top of that, gave HERSELF a 20% tip!

1st she did not disclose an automatic tip policy of 20% for parties of 6 people or more... 2nd...when I asked for a new coffee cup because the one on the table was dirty she said "What's the matter? Don't you like sharing the lip gunk left behind by the last customer?" 3rd We told her we found a hair in my husbands plate she said "sorry...probably a bristle from the pastry brush". She messed up on my husbands order and my oldest sons order.

She presented a dinner check and wrote in her own tip.It seems to me a tip is a voluntary gratuity you determine yourself. We always tip the waitress but its our choice if and how we do. When I questioned the tip their response was "its our policy and its on the menu". I said you shouldn't hide it in the menu, you should speak up. The first thing people look at when they get a menu are the entrees, not fine print disclaimers.

When I disputed this the waitress proceeded to yell at me in front of customers saying "If you can't afford to eat out, you shouldn't !" The whole point of a tip is that it is earned based on quality of service and it's at the discretion of the customer. Their bogus policy ensures them of a tip regardless of how well you're treated.
